This book was so much fun! It’s a choose-your-own-adventure, or CYOA, book for adults. I wasn’t sure what to expect from this book, as my main reason for picking it up was it’s fun and colorful spine. Thank goodness that for once I did not check the Goodreads reviews beforehand, because I surely would have put the book back on its shelf if I had. The reviews, for the most part, are not very nice. But first, let’s talk about why I liked it before I ramble about the other reviews.
I really liked that this book gives you closure for any path you choose, whether or not they are fun closures. Some endings are absolutely terrible, I don’t mean terribly written, but just plain terrible. Seeing as the reader is the main character, it definitely hurts a bit when bad endings happen.. like being murdered. Though, that is what makes this book so much fun. If you decide that you didn’t like your ending, you can start again and live a whole new life. The whole message of this book is that bad things happen to everyone, and regardless of what choices you make you must face those decisions and where they take you in life.
Many reviews complain about the lack of plot or explanation in this book, but you must keep in mind what the book is trying to accomplish. It has 150 different endings, meaning there are hundreds of different paths your book life could experience. Take that and shove it into 504-page book, there is no possible way that anything but the main points of your life could be portrayed here. There’s no time to interact with your spouse for years or get to know your children. So, if you can’t read a story without a set plot, skip this one. But, if you want a chance to use your imagination and live multiple lives, jump on the bandwagon!

On bad days, I usually go home and read a book while taking a bubble bath. This allows me to relax and escape life to a different world for a little bit. It’s fun!
